Ellen H. Kueny
Ms. Kueny is a native of Belleville, Illinois. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame in 1983. She received her J.D. Degree from St. Louis University School of Law, cum laude, in 1986. She served on the Editorial Board for the St. Louis University Law Journal.
Ms. Kueny is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey as well as various United States District Courts. She has wide-ranging experience in personal injury, products liability, insurance defense, breach of contract, and breach of warranty litigation, as well as appellate work on various matters.
Ms. Kueny wrote the appellate briefs in two recent successful appeals before the Delaware Supreme Court which resulted in favorable opinions for automotive manufacturers.
She also has extensive experience in insurance-coverage issues. She has drafted and filed various declaratory judgment actions and provided opinions to carriers regarding potential bad-faith allegations. In addition, she has provided coverage opinions regarding a wide variety of matters, including interpretations of policy terms, indemnification provisions of contracts between contractors and sub-contractors, and duties to provide notice of cancellation of policy or loss of coverage to additional insured or loss payees. She has also provided opinions concerning construction, engineering and design professional liability policies to determine coverage and legal obligations for defense costs, attorneys’ fees and settlement proceeds. Ms. Kueny has practiced law with Kantrowitz & Phillippi, LLC. since its formation in 2000. From 1986 until 2000 she practiced law in Philadelphia at two litigation firms, handling cases involving products liability, toxic tort, breach of warranty, and insurance coverage issues. Ms. Kueny resides in Richboro, Pennsylvania, with her husband and four children.
